Harvey
Thanks for posting this. I love Koa also and especially the type with the darkish lines(always seems to sound better to me also). I did not know you built high end VoyageAirs! Wow, i love my low end VA-OM-04, its a truly exceptional guitar for the cost. Do you build a shortscale version of the VA? thanks daryl |

Daryl,
Thanks for compliment! I build just about anything, below is a picture of a short scale 12 fret that I have been using as my show sample. Walnut B&S/"winewood" redwood top. Beyond custom Leach Voyage Airs I also have been doing some retrofits of imported VG bodies with new necks. In fact I'm currently building 2 such animals, one is a VAD-1 with a 13 fret neck, the other is a tenor neck on an OM body. Because the bridges are already located on the bodies I'm limited to fractions of the existing VG scale length (25 5/8"), essentially removing the first or first and second fret and making the necks either 13 fret- 24 1/4" or 12 fret 22 7/8" ...or meaning the "zero" fret is at the location of the 1st or 2nd fret. Harv
