Default It's a sickness, it really is

I stopped by GC a little while ago and played one of these and the other model (road series) without ivoroid binding... I'd buy a guitar everyday if I could, lol.

It's more of an disorder rather than a sickness. A lot of us have it.

The back and side woods are awesome looking. How does this wood compare to the standard fare? Looks like this will be a fun guitar.

From what I've seen and heard, it's an epidemic. Many that don't have it yet are actually planning on catching it.

If buying guitars were illegal I would still have 25 guitars.

I hope you didn't post that hoping someone would try to talk you out of it...this is more of an "Abettors Unanimous" crowd...

Some call it "sickness". Some call it "disorder". It is true that it is epidemic. And I have it too. As if my D18-GE and my Huss and Dalton TOM-R addi over Brazilian are not enough. I am always looking. Coveting. Now I am gassing for something nice with nylon strings. It is always something else. Something new. Something "vintage". Yeah, the proper word is covetousness, which is a cruel sin. We all have it by nature from birth.

It is a sickness...

Stopped by Sam Ash and left with a Martin DCPA4.

Ordered online a Martin GPCRSGT (same guitar you were looking at, but with Satin Sapele sides and back).

That's my guitar. It's deep, it's rich and it's lively. The sides on mine look like spun gold and the back is more subtle than that one. I didn't like the looks of it at first. I thought it looked like something made by Taylor, but at every stop it was the one that rose to the top of the class.

I played four of them in four different stores and I felt that them very consistent and that they could compare very nicely to the more expensive Martins. The best shop for comparing, that I went to in the area, was Alto Music in Middletown NY. If you've never been there you should go.

Alto was 100 less that GC or SA but they still couldn't beat the price from our forum sponsors. I got 200 less than GC or SA price and no tax, almost 9% in NY. Maury's got the guitar to me overnight in less than 15 hours.

As near as I can figure I lost it 11 years ago. These days I think of the GC 17 miles away as if it's in Tibet at some mountain monk refuge. Why does a Slinky come to mind? My current hobbies are running an internship program for high school kids and playing a classical when the mood strikes and I can fit it in.
