Irvin Guitars at La Conner 2018
I am excited to be exhibiting at the La Conner Guitar Festival, May 11-13, 2018.This is my signature parlor I will have on display. I hope to post a couple more in the days ahead. I'll be showing a couple of my small jumbo models and possibly my dreadnought model as well. That's a small jumbo I have in progress that you see behind the parlor. I plan to have that one ready for La Conner as well.
This parlor is Indian rosewood with an Italian spruce top. padauk bindings.

Wow, what a stunning guitar. I'm about two hours south of La Conner and had no idea of a guitar festival there. Would love to check out your guitars Wayne... they look stunning.

Wayne, love the rosettes, especially what I can see in the SJ. What are the rest of the specs on that SJ?

I agree that these look fantastic. However, some of you may be wondering how they SOUND and PLAY...
Incredible. My duo partner and I (Notable Journey) have played and recorded with his guitars. The are relatively lightweight and very responsive. In terms of a sonic profile, I would say they come under the Larrivee umbrella of highly balanced string separation, usable fundamental to overtone ratio, and excellent sustain. Bright without being thin. Even though I use Larrivee as a starting reference point, I would say Wayne has developed his own distinctive sound. I generally pass on parlor guitars, but I played one of his parlors that was the best one I've ever played. In the same vein, I've never cared for the feel and sound of a dreadnought for my own use. Again, when I played an Irvin dreadnought, it made me reconsider that stance. It was that good. If you attend, make it a point to visit his booth. And, if you want to hear them played in performance, we (Notable Journey) will be demoing Irvin guitars in mini-concerts Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Hello, Wayne! That's a lovely parlor guitar. I like the "sunset" rosette and the colorful rosette on your SJ. Good luck at La Conner!
