Default Questions about a 93 Taylor Koa

Hi,
I inherited a guitar from my Uncle,
He was an actor and left many things, almost without exception
everything he had was special, this guitar is an example.

I do not have the exact serial # before me however it was the
22nd built on 11-09-1993 and a high series denoted by a 1 in the
serial #.I think it is 931109122 if my memory is correct,
meaning 1993, 11-09, the 1 meaning a high series and 22
was the order that day.
Apparently Taylor only made 100 Koas in 1993,the 1991 to 1994
models arguably preferred due to B Taylors involvement?
Anyways I had a Guitar shop tell me it was a presentation grade K20
and it had AA grade KOA wood on the front and sides and back.
The fellow said it was the prettiest one he ever saw, I have to upgrade my phone
and or service as my current setup will not send pics for some reason,
I am going to get pics to help determine exactly what I have.
It has mother of pearl around the hole and perimeter,
you can probably tell I know nothing about guitars ,
I know it has gold plated knobs and mother of pearl on the neck or frets.
It is in the Taylor case which is really heavy and a pink fuzzy interior anything anyone can tell me would be cool

If there are no pics, then it didn't really happen. Congratulations!

Congratulations! I also have a K20c--mine's a "98.

I think Taylor used some really nice looking koa for this series. Mine is as flamey as they come!

You have a dreadnought-sized K-20, which is all koa. Nothing in a Taylor serial number refers to the model or quality - they only give you the date, and what position it was on the assembly line that day. The modern serials also give you the factory location, but they didn't start until 2010. Your serial means it was the 122nd guitar that day.

Depending on the figuring and grain of the koa, the cosmetic condition, and whether it has a cutaway/electronics, I've seen them sell from $1500 up to $2500, although closer to the lower end of that range is more likely in this market. Sounds like a nice guitar!

Also, as far as I know Taylor didn't have "presentation" grade koa back then (the Presentations didn't start until, what, 1996?), but yours may certainly *look* as nice as current Presentation grade. Post some pics when you have a chance!
