Default Drop D songs

I'm practicing a couple and just would love if you guys would give me more drop d songs, I'm a drop d addict. Haha one of my guitars almost always is ready to go in drop d! The songs I'm trying to get better at are.

Old maple guitar, jamey johnson ( one of my favorite songs, not sure how many of you are country fans)
Harvest moon, Neil Young

This Drop D medley should work out your fingers. Pinky gets a lot of work.

Her are the tunes from my current setlist that are in Drop D:

All My Loving - Beatles (capo 2)
Beeswing - Richard Thompson (capo 3)
Blame it on Me - Barenaked Ladies (capo 2)
By the Time I Get to Phoenix - Jimmy Webb (capo 3)
Colder Weather - Zac Brown (capo 1)
Everlong - Foo Fighters
I Won't Give Up - Jason Mraz (capo 2)
Inside Out - Eve 6 (capo 2)
Lego House - Ed Sheeran (capo 1)
Never Leave Harlan Alive - Darrell Scott
Rock 'n' Roll Song - Valdy
Sugar, We're Going Down - Fall Out Boy
The Ride - David Allen Coe (double drop D)
The Road Goes on Forever - Robert Earl Keen (capo 2)
The Way - Fastball
Three Pistols - Tragically Hip (capo 2)
Wondering Where the Lions Are - Bruce Cockburn (capo 2)
49 Tons - Fred Eaglesmith (double drop D)
Mama Tried - Merle Haggard (double drop D)

Not all of these were originally recorded in Drop D, but you'll find they are all easier to play and/or sound better in drop D. Experiment... Lots of tunes fall to Drop D quite well.

Mike

I have the same question and came across this thread in a search. I'll give you two: Blind Faith's "Can't Find My Way Home" and Rod Stewart's "Maggie Mae". If other forum participants have additional songs, especially in the classic rock genre, I'd love to hear what they are.

I love playing songs in drop-D.

Beatles' Norwegian Wood is fairly easy and fun to play. Here's a clip of me playing a sloppy version of it in my bathroom:

Well alright! Thanks for the video! Sounded good to me - you can play around my campfire anytime.

Thanks Billy! I see you you live in Shenandoah Valley - that's one of those mythical places I dream to go one day, so yeah, I'd love to play around your campfire!

There are a bunch of songs I play in drop D, that might not be in drop D in the original version (I'm never too fuzzy about playing songs "as they should be" played).

Here are a couple that I think work well with low D (just about any song that you can play in the key of D sounds cool with that low drone):

Thank You - Led Zeppelin
Old Man - Neil Young
Wanted Dead of Alive - Bon Jovi
Needle and the damage done - Neil Young
Hard Rain - Bob Dylan

Thanks for the drop D song list. Yeah, the Shenandoah Valley is beautiful - have a farm there. Stockholm is a great place too - I get to visit there for business occasionally (had a quite memorable weekend there once, but that's another story). If you're ever coming to the states send me a PM and we'll build that campfire.

Will do! Likeswise if you come to Stockholm! (minus the campfire, it's not allowed within city limits...)
