Beyer TG-V90R is the successor to the M500 and a great vocal mic for singers who don't sing right on top of the windscreen.

Mahalo Ronmac & Tico for the correction
Aloha Ronmac & Tico,
Thanks for the correction boys. I've made the appropriate changes to my previous post. You're right, I confused figure eight & ribbon modes on multi-pattern condensers. Just shows you how little I've worked with those types of mic's in figure eight. However, I have used several different dedicated ribbon mic's many, many times recording in M-S. My favorite ribbon mic has been an AEA R-84. BTW, I still would never take a fragile ribbon mic to a live gig, Dan. Thanks again, guys. alohachris Last edited by alohachris; 03-23-2018 at 05:58 PM. |

Thanks for all the replies. I would not be gigging, just playing around the house. I want to mic the guitar and into either a Bose L1 compact or a Fishman Sa330X.
I know squat about what I would need in addition to the mic. I know condensers need phantom power and the Bose does not have that. If I get a Fathead, I don't think I'll need anything else but I don't know. I just want a darker sounding mic to plug into whatever amp/stick pa I decide on. Dan |
