Yes. I noticed the melody clearly on your play through. I have a lot of easy sheet music I could contribute to this idea as well.
I am moving and will jump in as a beginner as soon as I get everything back together. I really like this idea of easier pieces that we work on and record for each other to listen to. We need to stop worrying about our abilities and have some fun together. Classical guitar studies can be too lonely.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

i'm still working on my next piece, a nocturne my mertz, which will probably take another week! guess i'm back to picking tunes a little above my weekly goal.
anway, i think i'll stop posting to this thread and just post in show and tell. if anyone feels like reviving it, please do so. it didn't go quite as viral as i had hoped. thanks for all the support. |

Very nice.
I can read music but am unfamiliar with guitar notation. What are the numbers next to the notes? |

The numbers beside the notes are suggesting what finger to use. The number in the circle suggest what string to use,

Sarabande. Looks reasonable to work through. Slow tempo and all.
Ther is an asterisk type symbol also under some notes. What does that signify? I guess I should just pick up a beginner guitar notation book of some kind. Read some articles on the net. |

or just ask, it's kind of fun that way. at any rate, you probably won't find that asterisk symbol in any guitar notation book, as i've only ever seen it used by m. delcamp. it indicates that there is an ringing open string that should be muted. so the asterisk in the first bar below the D note is there to remind the player to mute the open A note. i do this by touching the side of my thumb against the A string when preparing to pluck the D string. it can be a little bit tricky but is a useful skill. |

Thank you, I was wondering about that since it looked totally unfamiliar.
Muting strings takes some finesse that I don't have but it will give me something to strive for. I am going to make it a goal to at least get through all of the notes. Then I can start adding all of the things that make it sound musical. |
