Default Journey Instruments saves the day

Long story, which I'll try to make brief as possible:

* I decided to purchase a flight case, and ship my guitar for an upcoming wedding rather than taking it on the airplane
* On 12-December I shipped the guitar via US Postal, 2-day air service. That was a Friday, with the wedding on Saturday the 20th. Also in the case were my cables, DI box, extra strings, etc.
* With the 15th being the MLK holiday, they said it would arrive on Tuesday the 16th. I figured Wednesday the 17th, worst case
* I departed on Thursday the 18th AM. Knowing the guitar hadn't arrived yet, at the last minute I decided to take my new Journey Instruments OF420 travel guitar.
* As of Friday afternoon, the USPS had no clue as to where the guitar shipment was, so we went to Guitar Center to buy new cables, DI box, extra strings, etc.
* On Saturday I played the wedding with the Journey, and it went quite well, despite my lack of confidence on the new guitar, with original strings, no setup, and having never been plugged in before...

Bottom line, the Journey Instruments guitar performed flawlessly, punching well above it's weight. I got lots of compliments on the tone, and my song set as well.

Kudos to Journey, and also to Ted at LA Guitars for getting the Journey shipped out pronto.

USPS, Epic fail...

Gary
p.s. I did get notified that USPS will deliver the guitar today (11 days after I shipped it), to my brother's empty house since he is now on honeymoon...

Use the USPS - When it absolutely, positively has to be there sometime in the next few months. Glad all turned out well. Good call on taking the Journey.

And for the icing on the cake, the US Postal service just updated the status on my shipment. It now says "Delivered, left with individual at address".

To which I say what address? There is no one home this week at the original ship-to address...

Brilliant!

Maybe the guy waiting to steal the Amazon boxes off porches ?

You would hope the USPS hired people AFTER figuring out they can read an address and match it to one on the house.

So glad the Journey worked out, Gary, but I'm really sorry to hear about your USPS horror story. Keep at them, and let us know how it turns out.

Glad the Journey worked out. I never use USPS when it has to be delivered on time. UPS is much more reliable and has better tracking.
