Default Yet Another String Report

Recently re-strung my La Patrie with a set of Savarez 520 P's. E, A D, G, B are all wound, only high E is solid. They seem to produce a really good tonal balance across both bass and trebles. They are very smooth and quiet.

I suffer from a touch of neuropathy in my hands, so even with callouses, my fingers often really hurt. I can barely feel these strings under my finger tips. I don't play classical music, just an old guy stuck back in the 60's folk revival who is primarily a finger picker.

Anybody else have experience with these puppies?

They sound good - I'll take a note.

You might like to try these one day - all 6 strings are wound. .. concept came from the 60's .. folk .. fingerpicking .. ticks all the same boxes!

I just strung my guitar with these yesterday - and they are great! Different sounding for sure, but with surprising volume in the treble strings. They make the carbon trebles I tried before sound muted.

I can't say I'm going to stay with them yet, I want to keep them on there for a while. I definitely second Brucebubs in this - you should try them.

Brucebubs, Thanks. I will definitely give the Thomastiks a try at the next change. I don't play a whole lot, so it may be a while.

I tried them years ago, and they do sound pretty balanced at first. Unfortunately the wound G and B didn’t last very long with the amount of playing I was doing. I went back regular red cards.
