Smile Custom R. Taylor Style 2 bearclaw Sitka/EIR. SOLD AGF!!!

2008 R.Taylor style two. Bearclaw Sitka/EIR, Excellent+! OHSC

Asking SOLD AGF with free insured shipping in the continental United States. Or make your best offer. All reasonable offers will be considered.

24 7/8 inch Short scale. R.T Slim carve neck. 1.75 inch nut. 2.25 inch string spacing at saddle. For smaller or older hands the slim carve and short scale are very comfortable! If you have larger hands or fingers you may want a thicker neck.

2010 generation Taylor ES 1.3 pickup! This has the mag pup inside the neck, and the single body sensor with the most recent preamp. Upgraded at the Taylor factory in El Cajon, Ca. By Tim Luranc, who was in charge of RT the entire time they were building! Works perfectly and sounds fantastic. According to the Taylor literature and all I have heard, the ES 1.3 sounds a lot more like a good microphone than the new ES2.

65' top radius. Very pretty Green Heart Abalone rosette and 4 mm dots on neck.

Ultra smooth and precise brushed gold Gotoh 510 tuners with black resin buttons,
to lighten the headstock a bit. Original gold buttons in the case.

RT style two is the same size as a Taylor grand concert, and about the same as a Martin OM or 000, but about 1/3 inch deeper, for a bit more bass. Very comfy 15 inch lower bout. But big enough to have a very full sound. Responds beautifully to gentle fingerpicking, but can hold up to firm flatpicking quite nicely!

Very striking bearclaw in the top! Draws comments kudos on a regular basis...

Absolutely no structural problems or issues of any kind.

Very little fret wear. Almost no sign of use, perhaps due to the two easily removable Taylor static cling pick guards I had on her for years.

The action is currently 3/32 and 2/32 inch over the E strings. This is Taylor's recommended action, and very versatile.

Sounds spectacular! She is surprisingly loud, full and warm, crystal clear, has a lot of bass and is very well balanced in all positions.

I am the original owner, and purchased it at the R.Taylor shop in the Taylor Guitars campus in 2008.

Except for two gigs, Tone-rite vibrating, and playing at home, it has spent its life in its properly humidified case in my climate controlled music room. I decided it was too cherry to gig with. Sounded enormous through my P.A. though.

I have hung it with a Tone-Rite seven or eight times now, for a week at a time, and it has now opened up very nicely indeed!

R.Taylors sold for much less discount than any other Taylors. They were actually a separate company. They took three times as long to build due to a lot more individual hand voicing. They also have some significant structural differences, no longer available, which resulted in TONE!!! Unfortunately RT was in competition with Taylor's BTO program and custom shop. They only made about 200 guitars a year for six years. They are out of business, and I have it on good authority that if they ever reopen the guitars will cost a lot more!

Will be carefully packed and shipped in her beautiful original Ameritage case, tuned down two whole steps, properly humidified, and suspended in a proper shipping carton. Will be shipped insured with a signature required, ASAP after PayPal payment clears.

If you still have any questions after this long-winded description, please send a message and I will try to answer as quickly as possible.

For an in hand description, send me your phone number and good times to call you, and I will try to get back to you ASAP!

Guitar is for sale locally as well so don't wait too long…

Thanks for looking, and play lots of beautiful music, the world needs more!

Paul

Killing me softly.. :-j. Amazing guitar. The kinnards must be magic. Having received a guitar from Paul I can tell you if he sells it on here it is fantastic. Combination of remarkable skill at picking instruments with connection to amazing Tim Lurnac for setup and other needs.

Paul, you know it's true. This is a great looking RT2, and with all its features including my faves of a slim carve neck and short scale, it's calling my name. Bet it would even sounds awesome through the Taylor K4 that I bought from you. Got to get two guitars onto classifieds and sold (Blackbird Lucky 13 and Taylor 555) so I can be in a position to succumb...
