Smile Extra appendage sounds real good!

I like that idea Louie. Shouldn't the guitar BE an extra appendage? Haha

John I will pass on the foam rubber... my arm would just stick to it anyway.

And I have played at least one of your guitars at EVERY gig since I got 99 from Mike three years ago. I get compliments on them at every gig, too. And people ask who built such beautiful cannons, or something similar. A lot of folks have commented they are the best acoustics they have ever heard! It gives me a nice opportunity to sing your praises, my friend!

We got a bit of rain last night. Praying for a white Christmas and new year too!

Please check out JC's Blues on JK #128 in the link in my signature! I am fumbling forward with YouTube from my iPad.

Everybody have a rockin' little Christmas!

Smile Thank you Sensi!

Thanks John. You forgot to mention how good #128 sounds!!!

I have more up and even more coming on YouTube but can not quite figure how to get them all on my channel. As usual it is because I am old and digi-doltish and refuse to use more than my iPad. To start buying computers would cut into our guitar budget!!! HahahahHa

Any help greatly appreciated gang!!!

Everyone have FANTASTIC Christmas weekend.

Falla-Lala-La

Paul

Smile Waiting for Paua ...

I know John is waiting for some pretty Paua for a simple rosette. And I think he is considering some groovy spalted maple from his yard for the top purfling...
Fortunately he has a few in progress so any delay on one just makes time for another...
The BROWN BOMB (JK#135) continues to knock my socks off!

And it has rained over two inches in 24 hours with more expected, so fire season is on hiatus.

Loving the wet here in the formerly super dry Mountains...

Cheers

Paul

Default Neck layup and struts

Nearly finished with the inside of the sides. A little sanding perhaps here there, but the struts are installed. No flames this time.

The neck is a walnut and maple and sycamore composit. The walnut will match the binding and the maple and sycamore of course match the body wood.

Either would work admirably in this application.
Bro, which one do you have?
Thanks for the update Kinnaird Bros!

This whole guitar is pretty much awesome, but that neck is beautiful. What a gorgeous piece of walnut.

I think the next guitar will just be one big bevel with strings attached!!!!

Smile Bevels...

Hey Tom. I love big bevels, and I can not lie! Haha.

The comfort they add for long gigs is much appreciated! But as for one big bevel... no need on the bottom half. Hard enough to keep it in place anyway. Of course I am doing a bit more than the usual with the harmonicas in the rack and the foot percussion.

I am most grateful to John for all his extra ergonomic effort on my guitars! And getting to help design the architecture as well as the woods and decorative elements is VERY ADDICTIVE!!! DANGER! You have been warned.

Meanwhile I am still totally smitten with the Brown Bomb, #135. I am bummed that photobucket has screwed up so many build threads, including that one.

Sigh... but life is good! And fun is being had!!!

Thanks Mike! Without you selling me 99 I would have never known what I was missing... your two new builds are BEAUTIFUL!!!

Cheers

Paul

The back is on.

This rim needed a lot of engineering with support rods, cutaway, arm and extensive rib bevel and a Manzer wedge laminated sides and sound port reinforcement. Whew.

Smile Looks great to me!

John, she is going to be another stunner in the looks department! Thanks again for all your labors on my ergonomic behalf!

I am glad you are using that nice lightweight Spanish Cedar for the linings, as they are large! Go bevels...

You are the Bevel King! Yes indeed!

Cheers

Paul
