Default Opinions on Eastman E10ss

I was wondering if there are any Eastman E10ss owners out there who can give me theirs thoughts on this guitar. I just sold my Taylor 810 and was thinking about getting a Martin custom D classic but M. friend is out of stock right now. Then I ran across this guitar at Mass. street music in Lawrence Ks. which is a pretty good drive for me. So if any one out their could give me some feedback on this guitar it would sure be appreciated.

Eastman's reputation on this forum is excellent. Their guitars are very, very good. I used to own an E10SS, and it was a really great guitar. I've played several others, and they were too. It does have a narrower nut width than your 810, and is definitely different from it in other ways too, but I seriously doubt you'd be disappointed with how it sounds.

I bought an O8 rosewood for my daughter and it is a fantastic guitar for the price! Great sound, great quality.

I owned an E10SS. The burst is stunning. The neck feels like the typical Martin 11/16 D28ish neck (prior to the redesign this year).

I loved mine. Fantastic guitar. Mine buzzed a tiny bit on arrival, but a $65 setup made her perfect. These are great guitars. They look all J45 but mine sounded more like a D35. Mellow. A little dark.

Go for it.

Great song and performance. Love your voice.

Too bad about your head getting cut off.

Beautiful playing and singing, man. That guitar sounds great - and you sound great with it.

I've never understood why some folks say they love a guitar and then sell it. My good ones are with me for life.

Too funny, Scott! I resemble that remark, and your E10SS looks a whole lot like one I used to own and love, but sold...hmmm?

Keith, I wasn't thinking of you AT ALL when I wrote that. You're late up too, huh?

You still lovin' that Gibson slope dread? They seem to know how to make a good one.

Lots going on at work. Can't sleep, so might as well check in on all you fine folks, stir up some GAS, lust, and envy. Eastman certainly upped their game in the mandolin department...NAMM intros show a sweet new 315 level mandola. Now I have MAS too!

My J15 is such a sweetheart, probably my all-time favorite guitar of many that have passed through my doors.

Some folks are wired different. Guitars are a hobby for me. I play catch and release a bit, and while I own two lifers, I also own three others, and these tend to rotate. I’ve owned D35s, 18s, a 000-18, Hummingbirds, Southern Jumbos.... I can honestly say there were no bad guitars. And I feel richer for it too.

It’s all good, and better than other vices I suppose. No apologies here...

I like the E10 00 SS a lot, tried one out awhile back. Quite a catch except for the 1 11/16 nut. I like 1 3/4...

Here's a scoop on the E10SS that I returned. I bought it to try with an E20SS that I bought at the same time. I preferred the tone of the E20SS (and have other Mahogany guitars), that's the only reason that I didn't keep the E10SS.

The only marks that I caught are a ding on the edge of the treble side lower bout and a finish check on the back toward the bottom along the center seam.

As I recall, think it’s a 2013 based on the serial number.
