Default Late 90's (98-99) Gibson Hummingbird 60's Reissue

Hi,

I am taking a chance on one that came for sale. Has anyone owned these? Can you tell me the good, bad, ugly? Pictures of yours? What strings you like?

I am drawn to the older wood on this one - it looks real clean.

Ah, the lure of the bird! Let us know when it gets there.

Peace,

They can be really great sounding guitars. I had one from the early to mid 90s and it had a great tone. Good luck, Sal!

For me, the hummingbirds I've played are maybe the "smoothest" guitars I've played. It's so hard to articulate... When I first dated my wife she drove a 1983 Mercedes diesel sedan. Dang, that car really knew how to roll.

What wood, back and sides and what year, Sal? I used D'Addario 12s on my Maple b&s model.
