Default Dion , La Conner show guitars

Well, The La Conner show is 4 months away and seeing as there we're a few too many distractions to bind my current projects I thought I'd take a little time to pull material for show guitars. I'm really fond of sets, things that match but not quite. I'm thinking about building two guitars with that in mind. One would be lutz over Lapacho, with a black neck and a Lapacho fingerboard and head veneer. The other would be lutz over Birdseye with a black neck and a Birdseye fingerboard. The later being similar to one of my builds from 2017 as seen on the acoustic guitar forum. Thoughts?!

The La Conner show was such a blast last year, if you've got the opportunity I recommend attending!

Here's another piece of wood I'm considering for show guitars. Leopard wood!

Prepping sides for bending and their eventual lamination.

I’ve been a bit delinquent with my progress photos lately. Oops.

I’ve carved the braces on the soundboard for the leopard wood guitar, a little sanding and a coat of shellac and it’s ready to go on the rim.

Dion, you're going to have to put some glue smudges and ebony dust to make it look like a human built these! Great, clean work!

Loving the looks of the leopard wood!

Just curious--what did you use for the bridgeplate on this one?
