Did something similar a few years ago on the cheap. Two Roland CM-30 cube monitors, two stands, cable to connect the CM-30's for stereo, and two AKG mics. The CM-30's have a guitar input as well as XLR should one of us be using a pick-up in an instrument. Would add a small mixer if I used it more.

Seems like you’re set to go with the QSC speaker and mixer. If you have the cash, consider the QSC TouchMix 8 mixer. I think it’s the best small format digital mixer on the market. Otherwise, the A&H is the way to go. If you decide to go compact PA route later, check out the HK Audio 608i and LD Maui before pulling the trigger on the Bose. It’s good to test your options out.

our band just got one of these touchmix mixers.
this thing has a ton of amazing features.i run the
sound and have a wireless guitar system. i can
grab my mandolin and my ipad and go
sit anywhere in the house and mix . It's pretty cool actually
sonically i liked the sound of our old clunky 16 channel Mackie better.
but the touchmix has everything you need so
all the outboard effects and eq can stay home.

Well, I ended up ordering a Soundcraft Notebook-8fx mixer. Cheap and gets pretty good reviews. I think I can fit it onto my Pedaltrain pedalboard, and just have that with my tuner, Fishman Aura, looper, eq, and compressor. It's small and light, and seems like it will do a nice job with vocals and guitar into my QSC K12.

Thanks for all the thoughts!

I've got the predecessor, a 124FX and it has been a reliable decent sounding unit for years. Usable FX and the preamps aren't tragic. Fair headroom too. Hope it works out for you.
