SOLD: *RARE* 2015 Santa Cruz "THE TREE" 45-style Custom OM *WOW!*
This is one truly RARE and special Santa Cruz OM. Its back and sides are made of "The Tree" -- a legendary Honduran Mahogany discovered and felled in the Chiquibul jungle in 1965. It is renowed for it's unique figuring and beautiful tone (that many describe as "Brazilian-like" or even better). No other mahogany tree with such amazing figuring has been found in the entire world so far. Hence, it's really one-of-a-kind! The end of “The Tree” supply line is perilously close at hand, so once they're gone, that's it.
Here's some history and info on "The Tree": http://www.guitaraficionado.com/reno...r-decades.html http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=238177 The other aspects that make this one even more special is that Richard Hoover himself was very involved in the construction of this guitar that he personally signed the label (usually it's blank or it's signed by one of his associates in the shop). And as per SCGC, this is only the 4th guitar they have built with "The Tree"! And it doesn't stop there. Every aspect and detail of this guitar is truly amazing -- tinted European Spruce top, 45-style inlays, highly figured Koa neck and bindings, "The Tree" headstock overlay, Gold Waverly tuners with Snakewood buttons. The guitar's serial no. is "OM 5010" and it was completed on September 9th, 2015. It's in really excellent condition with hardly any signs of use. Just some light pick guard swirls and one tiny, shallow indentation on the top which has already been there since I got the guitar (see last pic). I'm the second owner (but practically the first) since I've owned this beauty when it was just over a month old. I intended this to be a heirloom guitar but circumstances are forcing me to sell, unfortunately for me. Specifications:
All other specs are standard to the OM and can be found here: http://www.santacruzguitar.com/instruments/om-model/ I have a certificate from SCGC signed by Richard Hoover stating that the current replacement value of this guitar is $19,420 (I can send a copy of this certificate to serious buyers). I'm asking only $XXXX SHIPPED, FULLY INSURED and meticulously packed. This assumes payment via certified check or other secure "fee-less" options. Comes with a deluxe black SCGC Amertage hard shell case. I want to minimize the risks from shipping such a precious guitar, so I'm willing to do FREE OVERNIGHT or 2-DAY shipping at the most (we can discuss this if you're interested). I have sold a lot of high end guitars here in AGF and I can provide references if needed. Thanks for looking! Last edited by Chedeng88; 05-26-2016 at 11:43 AM. |

Good gracious...
This is totally unbelievable...that Tree set alone is nearly as valuable as the asking price here.

Wow Rye! It's always a treat to see when you sell what goodies you've got. This is amazing! Good luck with the sale, although I suspect there won't be much luck required.

Sir,
it is considered discourteous behavior to post pictures of such a stunning guitar without a warning that it will cause an onset of GAS. Consider yourself warned and...congratulations of the stewardship of such an incredible instrument. wow. |

To put such a guitar up here with that ridiculous price is totally and completely uncalled for and you have been reported to the moderators for such an egregious and cruel attack on every member of this forum. I hope this sale is struck down quickly and you're banned as a result.

Tis true, you couldn't ask to deal with a better guy. And OMG what a guitar! I can attest, "Tree" is beyond awesome. I own 2 with the "Tree" and that would be 3 if I could swing it. Wow! Move quickly. Someone will snatch this up.

This seems like a boring guitar that hasn't generated a lot of interest. I think I'm going to close the thread.
