Default Goodall Redwood/AAA Myrtle CJ --SOLD--

Beautiful Goodall CJ in AAA Myrtle with a gorgeous Redwood top. Excellent condition with a little playwear; priced right. 1 3/4 nut, 2 1/4 saddle, 25.5 inch scale. Maple neck, ebony fretboard, bridge and headstock overlay. Dark Rosewood body, fretboard and headstock binding. Bone nut and saddle. Abalone diamond inlays and rosette. Sounds phenomenal. James Goodall had commented on the old website, before the remake, that some redwood tops just have more bass. This is one of those tops. Loads of bass, plus the brilliant highs from the redwood. This guitar has more bass than my Goodall Madagascar Rosewood CJ. There's some minor belt buckle rash on the back, which I couldn't photograph. I can imagine the previous owner letting his idiot friend play it one time. There's a ding in the neck which can easily be dropfilled, and some fret wear- pictured. I've never noticed the fretwear while playing. I've owned the guitar for about five years, and it's been babied; properly humidified in a smoke and pet free home. The case has a few scuffs, but other than already mentioned, the guitar is perfect. The top is flawless, and the flame figure carries through the Myrtle sides and back. To buy this guitar with this wood combo today, the price would be $8700.00. Completed Spring 2004. Was $3995, now $3250 shipped. Conus only; no trades, please.

Third soundclip is new.

Default Gotta love Goodall ...

Fine looking instrument. Not often sure about the size nomenclature. Is the Concert Jumbo typical jumbo sized - small jumbo, or ? Have been seriously begun to research Lowden 0 model (025, 010, 035 etc. ) jumbos. Got any opinion how this might compare. I bought a maple Goodall Grand Concert from another forum member and love it, so your ad caught my eye. Good luck on the sale.

Thanks, Mr. Fingers. This guitar, the Concert Jumbo, is James Goodall's approach to a small jumbo. The first guitar he made was a jumbo, and your Grand Concert was his small body variant for decades. He came up with the Concert Jumbo in 1998. The jumbo, CJ and GC are roughly 17, 16 and 15 inches at the lower bout. A Lowden O is slightly larger than a Goodall CJ.
Your Maple GC is fairly bright, where this CJ is deeper sounding, still with an airy top end.

Default Thank you

That is very helpful; clear comparisons and perspective.
I'm hoping to find a larger bodied guitar that does a strong job at both the bass and treble ends for fingerstyle. And I'm primarily a singer, so strumming is important to me.
My aging skeleton doesn't much like the dreads for long periods of play anymore. But, surprising to me, jumbo sized guitars offer an ergonomic relief, of lifting a bit, rather than reaching over and around. Just have to find the right one.
Again, thanks for the info.

Head's Up! Price drop.

This is not your typical Sitka/Rosewood guitar. The depth, dynamics and remarkable clarity are a result of the premium woods used in the construction of this gorgeous instrument. Now offered at a serious discount.

Thanks, OddManOut. I struggle just to get a link to photos. It should be easier... You'll be my first choice next time I need jackrabbits.

What a fantastic looking Goodall with an unusual wood combo. It sounds great too based on the soundclips. GLWS!

Thanks, Chedeng. That SCGC OM is a beauty, too.
