AGF "City of New Orleans" thread
On the heels of the AGF "Mr. Bojangles" thread, and based on the long Steve Goodman thread currently in the General Discussion section, I thought maybe we can get a bunch of versions of "City of New Orleans" posted here.
I offer up my meager effort here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4yQ_m84FaI Let's hear some more! Jim |

City of N.O.
Nicely done, Jim!
We've done a few different arrangements of this timeless classic. Here is a rendition with Debbie singing it: City of New Orleans

Why does your Youtube post say "by Arlo Guthrie?" I recall hearing noises during the 80s (from some people who played with Arlo) that Arlo was not correcting the misimpression out there that he wrote the song, so I tend to notice when someone says "by Arlo Guthrie."

OK. Here is my rendition. Sorry, no YouTube here. A couple friends were over and we recorded our afternoon session. One of them dosen't really know it very well so you'll hear a third guitar come in and out.
The quality leaves a little to be desired. We set a small Tascam portable recorder on the table and stood around it. |
