JUST IN! Collings OM1H Deep Body - Adirondack!
Let me just get this out of the way... Oh My God! This one is truly a standout! Yes, this one is all about TONE. LOL... We think it looks pretty good too.
80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings, yet flatpickers also find it appealing. The shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle onstage or when sitting on the couch. This one also has the 1 3/4 nut width option. We also had Headstock and Fingerboard Binding w/ Purfling added to the guitar. In all respects, probably the nicest OM1 guitars available. $5490.00 Custom Shop Guitars 1115 S. Scott, that's the nicest OM1 I've ever seen! Actually, it's one of the nicest OM-anythings I've ever seen! Simply stunning. If I hadn't just bought the I35 & 290 I'd go for it.
Folks, Scott at CSG is a great guy to deal with. I am extremely pleased with the customer service I received and it's obvious he knows how to spec a Collings! I highly recommend CSG as a dealer. |

Last time I corresponded with Scott at CSG, he told me this OM is sold but he has its twin on order. Has about a four month lead time -typical for a new Collings. Scott visits Collings just about every week and hand selects the woods, options, etc. for his guitars. I've purchased a couple of new Collings from CSG (both electrics), and they are both awesome pieces. I was going to try to work a trade w/ my R. Taylor Style 2 & $$$ for the future OM1SB, but I sold the RT & bought a Goodall WGCC so I'm out of the guitar buying pool for the forseeable future.

Hi Scott,
Wow, that is a beautiful guitar! For reference, I own about a 3-year-old Collings OM1ADD -- an OM1 with an adi top and a dread-depth, mahogany body. It really is a terrific guitar -- very clear voice but increased depth compared to a standard OM1A because of the deep body. The deep body seems to slightly fatten up the trebles as well as add bass on the lower end of the spectrum. But I have to say, my OM1ADD is fairly plain compared to this beauty you show here! Dang! That looks terrific! I am not surprised that it sold so quickly. Wise move, getting a twin coming ASAP... I would be glad to send you some good quality recordings I have made with this guitar if you are interested... - Glenn |

What a beauty! I have the OM1G with a deep body and I just love it. I'm not a heavy strummer, so I decided against the Adi top... I chose German because of its sweeter sound. But, for most guys, I think the Adi is perfect... just like Glenn's!
Beautiful guitar! I like the Collings OM deep bodies with mahogany, but not rosewood. To me, the mahogany gives the OM a well-balanced range and then the deep body just boosts the bass a little. The rosewood OM doesn't seem to need the additional depth. |
