EMG ACS
I'm primarily an country or blues teleplayer, but I guess my one redeeming feature is that I do own a 410. So I'm always looking for the Holy Grail of pups to amplify it without spending more than I did on the guitar.
I saw Pat Kirkley last night at a Taylor clinic, very impressive of course, but what really surprised me was his use of a EMG ACS soundhole pup. It really sounded superior to a lot of mid priced systems I've messed with or heard before. But I haven't found a lot information from players on this one. Anyone here used one of these? Or should I now crawly quietly back into my corner for mentioning a soundhole pup?

I tried it some time back and was not impressed. ... AND I LOVE EMG STUFF for the most part.
I bet he had it connected to something else and was mixing (ala Sunrise).

Thanks. He did have some type of preamp on the floor he was using, was this part of the Sunrise system?

I was thinking more along the lines of the magnetic soundhole plus a piezo undersaddle or a mic or something and then blend those.

I see, no I don't think he had a stereo rig there. In his handouts to the audience, the ACS was all the pups mentioned. He did have a new 710 with a pup prewired by Taylor, but he never played it. Anyhow I did follow some of the excellent threads on the BBand here, good stuff. Mebbe this is why I'm only smart enough to deal with teles. LOL. Thanks.

Gotta love the simplicity of a Tele. Tone Vol and switch.
