It's good to see companies experiment with new designs and materials. Honestly, for plugged in tone it seems fine. People buy them, so it appears to appeal to some people.

I started to reply, having owned one of these, but scanned back and realized that I already replied in December 2016! The aluminum topped models did not last very long in the marketplace, which probably says it all.

I played one at an open mic about 5 years ago. For some reason, I wasn't getting any output from my Larrivee (I now think the jack on the guitar cable wasn't fully plugged in) and the host handed me his aluminum top Martin. It sounded decent plugged in but I never have had a chance to try one unplugged.
