Fender Rustler Banjo opinions
There is a stupid deal of the day on musicians friend. A Fender Rustler 5 string open back banjo for $139.
I had been wanting to try my hand at some claw hammer. Just wondering of this looks like an adequate banjo for a guitar player to test the waters. It seems to have good reviews on a few sites I checked out, but I trust you guys and gals more.

I ended up missing this one. We are working on a nursery (first child on the way in may) and I never got back to order it.
It seems like the stupid deal repeats every month or two. Maybe next time or maybe I'll just order the go-guitar I've been eyeing.  In all seriousness I hope you enjoy it. Keep me posted just in case the deal comes back around.

I owned one for a bit. It's okay. Kind of lifeless, but it's okay for a first instrument.
