Congrats JR! I had a feeling on Sunday you were going to walk out with it. Truly an impressive instrument going to a good home. Enjoy, Humberto

I'm finally back in the land of internet after spending a great week camping in northern California and Oregon (hot springs!) with my good friend and guitar maker Dion Bews. Pretty nice way to wind down after Healdsburg!

For those of you that haven't met JR it's clear that he LOVES guitars and I'm beyond excited knowing this guitar is going to a great home where it's going to get played!

Nice meeting so many of you at the show this year, hope you all had as good of a time as I did. Until next time...

Mike

PS. As expected, Monday morning my laryngitis started to disappear and I can finally talk again. Perfect timing!

Here's a sweet little 30-seconds with this guitar.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpJoaXQLaeI

This guitar is so harmonically rich that as I tuned it up for the first time, subtle echoes began to flow from the guitar. The guitar seemed to be reaching for the tones and as I brought it to tune, the instrument seemed to come alive in my hands. The best way to describe the tone from this guitar is 'unrestrained acoustic tonal bliss'. This is the kind of tonal magic that inspires an artist to create original music and I am so grateful to have it in my hands!

J.R. you have great taste, what a fantastic guitar, it was great to meet you.

Mike, it was also great to meet you and see that guitar. I'm glad your voice is back. I'm looking forward to the next from you, the first sold very quickly.

Nice sound clip JR--sounds like you've got many years ahead of you enjoying that beauty as it comes to life...

I was thrilled to get to meet Mike (and his dad - who filled in while Mike's laryngitis kept him from saying anything!). I did get this great picture:

And I think I was helpful in making sure JR and H knew where Mike's table was!

JR - if you brought this to the OK Gathering I'd not be disappointed...!

Mike, great work. It is an unfortunate aspect of Healdsburg that although one gets to look first hand at the incredible work you guys put in - there's so much it's overwhelming. I just read back through this build thread and that really ties together my first hand visuals with detail that I couldn't absorb. Great work. wonderful aesthetic sense. Best of luck with the next 100 guitars!

Phil

The (handsome) Mute Luthier.

Wonderful and tastefully executed aesthetic, indeed!

That was such a sweet sounding guitar (and clearly, still is!). It was inspiring just watching Mike build that thing, I'm glad to see it continues to inspire.
