Default Will 15 series change to 1 3/4 nut?

Am I correct in thinking that the 15 series are now the only Nazareth made guitars with a 1 11/16 nut? If so, I would think they will change it for manufacturing purposes.

Ditto! I’d have one in a second if it did.

I do not think this is correct. According to the specs on the Martin website, the HD-28, D-35, HD-35, D-41, D-42, and D-45 all have a 1-11/16" nut width.

All the guitars listed above will have a 1 3/4 nut starting with 2018 models

Default Will 15 series change to 1 3/4 nut?

The 15/16-Series instruments are generally regarded as the lowest-priced "real" Martins...

Within both lines are several instruments, whether in current production or easily reinstated without the need for retooling, that already come standard with the 1-3/4" nut width...

In the interest of appealing to a similar market, Bob T. had the foresight to continue to produce the highly-successful 100/200-Series with the 1-11/16" necks upon which he built his just reputation for playability...

In answer to the original question, I hope not - but hey...

Check with Ted at LA Guitar Sales...he has custom order 15 Style Martin's with 1 3/4" nut and 2 1/4" saddle spacing. Satin and gloss finish.

Hi JP. Thanks for that information. An interesting and bold decision by Martin. I wonder if the market research shows that a majority of the buyers who have a preference (which is likely a relatively low percentage of all buyers) have a preference for 1-3/4"?

Every time they've moved a Standard Series model to the 1 3/4" MLO sales have jumped. I have to assume buyers like this neck setup in general. Taylor uses a similar (not identical) neck and buyers like those. Personally, I prefer a full profile 1 11/16" neck, but that's been rare on Martins since the 80's.

Here's a link to the new Standard Series for 2018.
