Nice job my friend....one of my favorite artist of all time. I got to see his son two weeks ago....AJ Croce...if you ever get a chance to go see him you will not be disappointed-apple didn't fall too far from the tree.

Thanks. And thanks for the tip about his son. I'll look at my local listings for him now.

Thanks for the listen and comments everyone. Croce was like a standard bearer for the music I love.
Kerbie, thanks to you as well. The guitar is a 1996 Yamaha CG110-CE classical with factory electronics. For this recording, and pretty much all my recording, I run it through a Nady wireless system to a Fishman SA220 acoustic amp. I record with a Zoom H4 across the room (10 feet) and then drag/drop into Garage Band. The Yamaha is the only guitar I own. Yamaha discontinued it some years back. I need to see what they make now should I have to replace it. Oh, for voice I use a Shure SM58, close mic'd. |

Croce was one of my very favorites. You have done his song justice. Great job.

Pitar, great job! I think that's my favorite Croce song. I liked how you were able to keep the rhythm going while you also did the lead solo (I'm assuming there's only one guitar on the track?).
I was going to ask why you chose a classical for this tune but I see from above it's the only guitar you own. Any plans to get an acoustic? |

@lightfoote -
Thanks. He was a gifted lyricist and musician. @Dru Edwards - Recorded one track, as I would play it live, it did take a bit of fuss to work the lead into the melody to fudge a modest representation of Maury Muehleisen's work. Regarding the type of guitar, I came from steel string acoustics. I don't have any plans at the moment to return to them but you never know about these things. Thanks for the listen and comments. This song is also my favorite. |
