2016 Martin HD28E Retro - SOLD
Hi folks! I’ve been a big fan of these Martin Retro series. This HD28E Retro has forward shifted bracing and a very big low end presence, actually too much for my folk music. It sounds great with a pick, or strummed. It may be a bit boomy for finger-style. To my ears, this guitar sounds just like the HD28V that it is based on. The pickup’s Aura imaging is based on a Pre War Martin museum piece with Adi top and Brazilian back and sides. The neck is straight and fretwork clean. The pickup has the best tone of any I’ve used.
I’m asking $$$$ shipped with OHSC using PayPal. I’m selling this as-is, though I haven’t registered the warranty yet with Martin. PM me to discuss. If you were every interested in an HD28V with 1-3/4” nut and a pickup, this is your guitar. The changes from stock include a Colossi bone saddle and antique acoustics pins. The condition is 8 or 9 out of 10. Light scratches and one tiny ding on the lower bout treble side. (Does not show up well in picture.) There is a slight dimple under the pickgaurd. The action is setup for bluegrass (.105” Low e) but I’ll gladly lower it for you if you prefer lower. I can ship next week after the Thanksgiving holiday.
