Default Just Ordered!

Yep, the Republic Resolian model 300 resonator is one that has been in my sights for well over a year now. Got this one for fingerpicking as well as some slide business. The Parlor size appeals to me for the lighter weight mainly. But it still has that punchy, metal tone I love about metal body resonators.
Should arrive by the middle of next week.
Stock photos!

This shot is only of the case that comes with it, not the actual model of guitar I'm getting.

Did you get the mesh holes in the first two photos, or the F holes in the 3rd photo? Now you have me shopping for one.

Mine will be like the one with waffle holes, in the first two pics shown. Uh oH! GAS is still alive and well here. A parlor in a resonator really intrigued me. Obviously for the lighter weight but also the ones I've heard were very nice sounding. They do have a wider nut on them but great for finger style too!

Nice. I have a Miniolian. It had some problems with the soundwell, but it sounds great and has a decent neck. IIRC, they use Continental cones, which are pretty good.

Congrats!

I had their Tricone 200, but I never bonded with it. Maybe one day I'll try wood.

If you do, keep an eye on the soundwell. Luckily I spotted the problem in mine before it fell apart completely.

I got it on Reverb from a store in PA. I think it's name is A&G Music in Drexel Hill. They're a dealer for the tri-state area.

Good idea getting the parlor Perry. The full size weigh a ton and a half.

I'd probably pick up one of those inexpensive ones Sam Ash or GC sell from time to time.

You can swap the cones in resos, to upgrade them, like swapping pickups in electrics. I did it, putting a National cone in an Epi Biscuit. It worked wonders.

A Pre-Congrats!

I have never played the parlor version but it sounds like you have so you know what to expect. I believe the same factory that turns out the Republics also turns out the Buskers and others. The reso I am always keeping an eye out for is the older Regal Tricones which were made by Amistar in the Czech Republic.

I also agree that going with a National cone will make a big difference.

Thanks to all! Hey zombywoof, I am gambling here, never played one but heard others and like what I'm hearing, so here's to gambling once again! Those Amistar resonators are sweet.,
