Default Smallest mixer

I am in need of a very small mixer with two channels. I don't need eq or effects but I do need volume, eq is fine. Just two in and one out via xlr or 1/4". Got ideas??

Something like this?

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/402VLZ4

- 2 mic + 1 stereo line input (called 4 channels)
- Phantom power
- Mic pre's

Only $100, probably can get even cheaper with the "B" brand .

Later

The smallest mixers I know are the Rolls mini mixers.

However Mackie also do some pretty awesome small mixers, something like the ProDX 4 might be exactly what you are looking for

They aren't really that small, but the Dtar Solstice is a great 2 channel mixer with proper phantom power, inserts on each channel, a master FX loop, tuner out and the ability to use XLR and 1/4" inputs on both channels. I personally think they sound very good with ample gain on the preamps. The only downside is you have to find one used. I just looked for you, and this is all I found (it's a little on the high side price-wise)...

This one:

I have one. It works fine. No frills, no noise, no degradation of tone. Comes with power supply.

Not sure if it works... but I think it should. If it is not small enough and you don't need volume: A passive transformer based Stereo to M/S decoder would work.

Here is an example of Stereo MS matrix.

One output sum the signals, the other substract them. You can use the "adding" output.

Page 8-9 of the user guide explains how to use it as a mixer.

Example of passive version

Nice DIY projects (see Schematics with Jensen transformers)
like mic combiners, or stereo M-S matrix, stereo to mono combiner...) If you do it yourself you can use Combo jacks (XLR-TS)... But you have to be sure of the type of inputs (mic, line level...).

Here a TRS line-level example:

These are some great ideas that I did not know existed. Very nice stuff from Azden. Love the cheaper gear too. And the wireless has its benefits for sure.

I went for the Pro DX-4. Has a lot of useful features in a small package with the capability to do the mixing at the mic stand with only my phone. How cool is that. We will see. And thanks very much for the input here.

Did you check the gain? Mackie pro-Dx4 has fixed 0 dB gain on jacks and only +25 dB on mics.

You said you wanted a mixer with volume pots, so I assumed you needed 0 gain and would only decrease volumes.

For example a cheap Mackie Mix 8 has +30dB on line (TS jack) and +50dB gain on mic (XLR).
