Among the very best out there IMO - I've never played a bad one; kinda makes you wonder, though, why so many of the other guys - not to mention Gibson (and recently Guild) - charge as much as they do...

Mark builds some of the best archtops out there,his prices are where they should be, some of the other makers are way over the top,mind you Mark is a one man shop......

I own a Deluxe Campellone no pick ups great guitar and impeccable work..One of the best archtop builders out there IMO.

+ 1 for Mark. I own a Campellone Deluxe and its a terrific instrument, both in terms of sound and playability.

I have a 17" Campellone Special - it's my #1 guitar. Good acoustic and electric sound. The pickup and tone/volume controls are mounted on the pick guard, and connected to the end pin jack via a cable w/RCA (phono) connector. To convert it too a strictly acoustic instrument, you can unplug the pick guard and remove it (and all electronics) completely. Not sure why you would want to, except to satisfy a purist aesthetic. I think that Mark's guitars are one of the best deals around on a hand made arch top.

Mine has a floating pickup, so it works great both ways. The pickup is set up to work with bronze strings.
