How would that work? Do you use the mixer's aux out-looper-aux in (effects out-in)? Insert?

2 outputs from mixer into each of the 2 inputs on the stereo looper.

coming out of the looper, you will also have 2 outputs. send one to a PA and one to an amplifier for example.

on the mixer, pan each input right or left depending on which output you want it to go through.

To the OP.

You also might want to consider this pedal and looper. It can really make things fun.

Digitech Trio Plus looper

just out of curiosity, any reason you didn't recommend the TC Heklicon Voice Live Extreme ? Great for vocals, acoustic and has a 3 part looper bulit in. Plus the new Extreme has USB stick to load backing tracks if you use them and all automation meaning you can preprogram looper to add a 3rd harmony at the chorus, a 5th harmony at verse etc. Very cool device and I am on the fence myself as to best gear to complete my live acoustic setup.

Well, that's all I have experience with. However, I saw a you tube recently by a guy name Chris Tidestrom. He did a video using the VL Extreme with acoustic guitar and it was really great. Cool tool, but out of my price range - for now.
