Default DISTINCTIVE GUITAR - What's NEW at the Shop!

Hello all!

Here is a little shop tour for those of you that don't know us yet. We carry a large number of boutique brands and rare/collectible used pieces from a variety of builders.

We are proud to say that we are dealer of the year for Knaggs guitars the last three years running, and are also one of the largest Suhr Dealers internationally. Other instruments we carry include Tom Anderson, Rocketfire, Knaggs, Fibenare, and many, many more. Additionally, we almost always have a small collection of acoustic guitars on hand that we would love to share with the AGF community!

Thank you - and now for some shop photos!

Thanks very much, Dan!

To kick off this morning, here's a gorgeous and rare instrument that we've got at the shop - one of the finest vintage acoustics we've ever played!

Earlier (1999) and very rare Boaz Clarita Negra, possibly the first of this model. This is one of the top luthiers today both for build quality and tonal innovation. The guitar features a Spruce Top with Cyprus Back and Old Growth Brazilian Sides. The Fingerboard is also Brazilian and the guitar has teflon frets and a unique ebony bridge.

Upper bout side port hole - incredible, innovative aesthetic - booming, clear voice that perfectly suits all playing styles. Be sure to check out the rest of the HD photos!

Thank you! It has an absolutely wild tonal character. Between the exotic tone woods and the unique construction, like the side sound port, it sounds massive.

Another one-off fully custom built acoustic guitar with beautiful Curly Koa back and sides and a snappy and resonant Adirondack Spruce top. This time by the master luthiers at Morgan Guitars in Vancouver.

This guitar has the mojo of a well-loved, broken in instrument that has been on the road for decades, but the modern design and craftsmanship make for amazing playability as well as huge sonic versatility.

A gorgeous Taylor 816CE - despite the impressive cosmetic appointments (as always, Taylors are stunning to behold!) the tone of this guitar can fill an entire room with a grand piano-like low end and crystal clear, balanced highs that add just enough shimmer and sparkle to chords. Check out the full HD photos at http://distinctiveguitar.com/acousti...stic-electric/

"Slightly bigger than Taylor’s Grand Auditorium body style, the Grand Symphony 816ce yields a powerful and rich sound without sacrificing bell-like articulation. It makes a potent strummer, and dynamic fingerstylists will enjoy the thick, full-bodied character of the notes."

We've just started carrying Breedlove Guitars, and they are seriously impressive instruments! From the unique bracing that allows for thinner and more resonant tonewoods to the amazing LR Baggs onboard electronics, we couldn't be happier with these guitars.

One thing that always stands out is the bass response - incredible, even with smaller-bodied cutaway models. The acoustic volume is enough to fill a really large space and the playability stands somewhere between a familiar, vintage play feel, a la Martin, and more contemporary high-end instruments.

Check out this Legacy Dread in Sunburst! (The back and sides are Cocobolo... normally impossible to find at less than twice this price point).

*Dusts off keyboard*

It's been a while since our last post, but we've been hard at work.
The Breedlove instruments are some of the finest acoustic guitars we have ever had the privilege of playing and having at our shop. The quality, especially at this price point, is unbelievable! If you've played a Breedlove, you know exactly how articulate, dynamic, and versatile these guitars are. Moreover, the Brazilian Rosewood is to die for... sonically AND aesthetically.

Dig it?
