Default How do you hold your guitar?

This is a little video I put together demonstrating how I'll hold my guitar. It's part of a series of tips that I include with the folks in my Members Club. Membership is absolutely free and each month I include a guitar lesson, featured guitar of the month and other cool stuff. Here's the link:

Default I Need a strap

Fat belly and thighs, sitting or standing, I need a strap to hold it in place.

Great advice, Toby! I don't play much sitting down these days, since my left hand seems to go numb after a time. Might have something to do with your subject. I'll check it out tonight, thanks!

Default Positioning

Great advise, Toby!

I usually play seated with my leg tucked back to raise the guitar a bit. I'll have to look for a small stool so my leg doesn't fatigue as quickly.

BTW, the guitar over your left shoulder has an intesting shape. Is that some version of a Parker?

Sounds about right to me. I like the left leg classical position best because of the angle you get along the neck. It just seems more natural for the left wrist and elbow.

I use a modified/upright classical position, and I love the "GuitaRest" guitar-support I have been using the past year. I have tried nearly every guitar-support device on the market, and this one is my clear favorite...it allows for nearly *any* position, and provides the best control/support that I have found.

This photo was taken a coupla' weeks ago at Fiddler's Dream in the Phoenix AZ area...while on-tour:

Hi Bernie,

No, that's a Kay Kraft Viosinet.
