He probably could have bought one or two good guitars with all that.

Looks like a small-town pawn shop that went out of business; as far as the instruments go there's an interesting mix of used (if I were there I might take a shot at one of those LG-0's, or that BRW Gibson Blue Ridge dread), new-old stock (some of which dates to the early-70's; the first-issue Sigma DR-41 might be worth a look, and I'd definitely take a crack at those red-label Yamahas), recent stuff (looks like a couple of first-run - the good ones - Epi Masterbilt slope dreads in there), forgeries (ranging from laughable to pathetic), and a few dozen what-the-heck-were-they-thinking oddballs. If it were me I'd try to find a way to wangle the day off - switch schedule with a co-worker, take a vacation/personal day, etc. - and go for the sheer fun of it...

On the other hand, Guy Fawkes night (November 5th) is looming.

I noticed a Stagg in there, even at firewood prices a couple of Staggs would be two deer.

I'm sure Gibson will be on hand to bid on that double cutaway for their company museum.

Couple of nice Epiphone Masterbilts in there. One slope shouldered in burst. Those are hard to come by. This would be fun to go to if I lived closer.

I contacted the auction company and they said it was a private collection from someone that passed away in Alamance County.

I knew it was not a pawn shop, none around here that have that type of inventory.

Maybe they were trying to buy one of every brand available...
