Hasn't "new age" been around long enough that it isn't so "new" anymore? Anyone that recorded for Windham Hill would probably fit the bill.

I believe that the OP needs to define "New Age" to get an intelligent response

Michael Hedges supposedly got tired of being called New Age and started saying his style was "New Edge", if I got that right. Maybe I should call my style "New Edgier", since I'm nowhere near as good as he was.

I think it is referred to as "ambient" guitar music. I have seen guitar arrangements for Enya. Secret Omar? Anyway, Google "ambient guitar music".

William Eaton was one of my teachers at guitar school. It's not really my scene, but he was one of the ones who started the whole thing.

He also made some of the most amazing instruments I've ever seen.

I don't know if these would be ambient/new age but I like them and I like ambient/new age.

I'm willing to learn from any guitar playing but I do not know any specific New Age guitarists, only a few which were in a new age band. It's never been something I've been concentrating on as at the time I was concentrating on other things. If there were specific New Age guitarists I'd like to know who they were so I can have a look if there's something new I could learn from that.
I know I missed a chance when this type of music appeared but there was a mayor dip in my life at the time which prevented me from investigating.
I have a few recordings here, nothing mayor, and allways found it a nice evolution of symphonic rock which was what I used to do prior to that.
I'd appreciate any links, thx.
Just noticed how the saddle on that picture isn't offset from the bridge, is that normal for all pyramid bridges, is the bridge itself offset for these?

I've been playing New Age guitar for a while. So long, in fact, that to look at me you'd swear it was Old Age guitar. Like Dippin' Dots has been the ice cream of the future for about 30 years.

Check Youtube for guitarists on the Candyrat label. That'll probably do it for ya.

You mean those guys from the 1980s?

Here, check this link to Windham Hill for some ideas.

Windham Hill Records

I became a bit familiar with them when my best friend and longtime music partner toured as sound manager with Mike Marshall, Darol Anger, Liz Story are others back in the mid-80s.

What do you mean 'those guys from the 1980's'. I'm one of the guys from the 60'ies and still trying to cause a mayor change in the music scene, but they still have a long way to go as musicians and may well cause an interesting swing in today's house and techno,
New House or sumthin' or Age Techno. Thx for the link anyways guys, apreciate it.

Well, for us oldesters, we will have New Age Rap, and call it "NAP". There's old Uncle Joe, he's movin' kinda slow at the Junction - Petticoat Junction. If you remember that, you probably qualify too.

There are so many, but one I always liked was William Elwood on Narada..."Openings" was my favorite.

Ralph Towner's solo stuff on ECM is pretty good.

Wind Machine "Rain Maiden" is a great recording if you want ensemble.

I'll look through my collection and see if I can come up with some other more obscure suggestions.

If you could define what you like a little more, I can be more helpful.

William Ackerman (founder of the Windham Hill label) is a guitarist, and is pretty much the prototypical New Age guitarist.

I'd put some of Robbie Basho's stuff in that category...mostly the droning East Indian-influenced tracks.
