Jam at Chestnut Grove
Last evening I caught up with some old friends for a Bluegrass Jam of sorts at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Earlysville VA.
The guitar count was as follows 2- Martins (a 1974 D35 & a 2013 D16 he said) 1- Epiphone Masterbuilt 1- Ibanez 1- my Rainsong H DR1000  Non guitars included; My 5 string banjo, a fiddle, lap style acoustic Bass, 2 mandolins, and a piano in the corner that Thank God stayed silent.  Being the Only Banjo player, I played banjo for the first hour and a half. After standing & walking around with that tremendous weight(literally) on my shoulders. I put it down and Grabbed my RainSong. It felt as if my leather strap was simple dangling around my neck. It got some strange looks by the D-35 owner. After a few songs, I suggested I play the D35 owners mandolin and he try my RainSong. His first strum, he exclaimed,"wow". That jumps right out there. FYI; I had the Martin Retro strings on it which I think are more of a desired Finger style sound on the Carbon guitars. At the end of the night he had the store information with him and he was planning to do more investigation. I love seeing and hearing first timers play a CF. Sorry it takes me so long to say so little. ( I'm an Old Baptist )

If I'd known about it, I could have added another Rainsong dread to the mix. I live near Crozet...
