Back to Blackbirds, I always really liked the Lucky 13 - I would have purchased one over my GX had they been available at the time. I had a play of their new El Capitan which I also liked a lot - now if they do a Lucky 13 in Ekoa, that would be something. No, there are no plans for this that I'm aware of.
Wonder if they can lay up Ekoa in the carbon molds? Why would their be a difference?

AZLiberty,
The Lucky 13 fits into a classical guitar case. I just tried mine in an SKB case and it worked fine.

I've thought about this too. I imagine they would need to test the strength of the current bracing and structural components with a different material. And if they had to change these things, what would the effect on the tone be.

I had asked Joe about doing the back/sides in carbon and the soundboard in eKoa. At the time it was not something they were pursuing, but it was early in the process of their use of eKoa. I don't know if there are any other limitations.
