Default Hawkins Guitars

I retired Friday. I have been a woodworker for decades but just started to play guitar a couple years ago. I would like to marry my two passions and try my hand at acoustic guitar building. Hawkins Guitars has a luthier school I'm Va. Beach and we will be living just up I-64 in Williamsburg. Has anyone dealt with Brian Hawkins' luthier school or know if it is considered to be a good one?
