Nothing wrong with feeling close to a well built Santa Cruz or Porsche. You're ultimately relating to the passionate builders of those inanimate objects.

I had one just like her. Scored a great deal in a pawn shop a few years ago. Fine guitar. I should have kept it.

Personally I could not call my guitar by a persons name with a straight face, but that's just me.

"Scarface"

It's an early 90's Seagull Spruce Deluxe. Which is basically an S6 with a spruce top instead of cedar. This is named for the huge bear claw figure that goes across the whole face of the guitar. For the life of me I dont know why Seagull didn't reject this piece of wood, but i'm glad they didn't. I adore this guitar.

I named my Wingert E after my grandmother who used to sing to me as a child - Isabelle. But more often than not I refer to it as my E.

My Wingert 00 was purchased used and had already acquired the name Old Smoky by Matt Sarad - a forum member here who played it and thought it had a smoky voice. But more often than not, I refer to it as my 00.

And my newest guitar is a Prairie Grass model by Sparky Kramer so I think of that guitar as Sparky, though more often than not, I just refer to it as my Prairie Grass.

I have a retired ‘73 j45. I’d pick it up and tell my wife I was off to the backyard to jump on my jumbo. That turned to jump on Bo which named that guitar “Bo”

I replaced that with a j45custom rosewood. Her name is “Rosie”

I have a few other names for things.

My 3/4 ton Chevy 454 pickup was “Big Brown”. My Remington shotgun is “Old Betsie”

I used to refer to my main natural finished telecaster as "woody," back when I owned multiple teles, but I haven't done that in years.

My first new car was called Moonchild. Big King Crimson phase, and the factory paint color (dark blue) was some silly name like "opulent moon" or something.

I haven't named any inanimate objects since. Don't really know why, I think it's fun.
