Default Simple impedance-matching preamp?

I'm searching for a preamp with a fairly high input impedance, preferably over 15 megohm. Schatten Design makes a great little 9V preamp with the features I need, except it's only 10 megohm. Does anyone know of a simple preamp with around 20 megohm input impedance and just a gain knob?

Headway EDB-2 (don't take EDB-1)

But there is more than a gain knob

Thanks! I also looked at the Headway EDM-1. Their preamps are definitely on my to-be-considered list.

I mostly want to avoid too many unnecessary controls, though. I'm really just after impedance-matching my signal with a decent input gain.

Why do you seek for preamp with so high input impedance?
Do you use special piezo pickup that needs so high value?

Just curious

Yes, the pickup I'm using needs a very high input impedance to respond well. And most preamps, especially for acoustic guitar pickups, seem to float around 1 - 10 megohm.

The Grace Design FeliX preamp is the only other preamp I've been able to find, aside from those offered by Headway, that has a 20 megohm input impedance.

So, I'm just curious if there exist a really simple solution, or if I'll have to get the next best thing (or build one myself, hah).

Check out the Schatten Mini Pre. Tiny and comes with only a volume control. Schatten Designs in Canada. I use their sound board transducer pickup and it's great.

You can try this:

Input impedance is set by R1 resistor

What pickup are you using? You haven't mentioned the name.

I'm using an Acoustic Lens pickup by Trance Audio. I know they come bundled with a matching internal preamp, but I prefer when the preamp and battery is outside of the instrument.

And from countless hours of Googling I've been able to figure out that the pickup likes to see an impedance level of over 15 megohm.

It isn't a simple preamp, but Headway makes their preamps with a Ultra High Impedance mode for 20 megohms.
