Anyone can post their builds here. I've updated the description of this forum a bit. Suggestions welcome.

After being able to click on build after build, all I can say is this was an awesome idea. Thanks for adding this to the AGF!

Default Vintage Martin D 28

I am new to this forum and not sure if I am in the right area.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to be shown a vintage Martin D28. It was said to be a 1958. I looked at the serial number and I am pretty sure it started with 24**** or 25****. The top and side had aged such that the top was almost a brown color. On the martin website this would be a 1967 or 1968.
The most unusal thing about this guitar was that it had a wood pickguard which appeared to be rosewood. I tried googleing, but did not find any matchs reference a Martin with a wooden pickguard. Do any of you have any information on if this a custom or somebody doing it themself. It appeared to be as old as the guitar.

Martin never did that.

I have seen a few customs/handmade guitars with a pick guard made of the same wood as the B/S. It looks really cool if done well!
