Default Multi fx unit ?

I have a g natural fx pedal on my mcpherson guitar the fx are fine but I've had to have it repaired 3 times in the past three years because of freeze up I'm tired of dealing with this issue any recommendations for a multi fx pedal for acoustic and possibly electric ( strat) that could be used for both ?

Never used a multi personally (I just prefer separate pedals) but I know a couple of guys that use the Line 6 M9 and love it. One of them has had the same unit for a few years and does fair bit of live work. He reckons it's the bees knees.

Does it have to be in a pedal?
There are many many possibilities in a rack unit run through your mixer or amp fx loop.
Korg, Eventide, Lexicon, Tc Electronic etc etc
I have always leaned towards Korg for multiple guitars.

The Line6 M9 is great to play with, as is the Zoom G3/G3X. In many cases I prefer standalone pedals, but those two seem to hold their own pretty well.

See if you can find on eBay or somewhere a Yamaha DG Stomp. You can use presets or set it up for individual f/x. I'd offer you mine but it's somewhere in the bowels of my storage unit and I doubt I could find it any time soon.

Thanks for info I'll check out each one and yes I do prefer a pedal as I do change fx fairly often depending on tune.

I will second the Zoom G3. I've tried the Digitech RP series, it was ok, the Yamaha DG series pretty good, but not super intuitive and the Zoom which has very good amp and pedal models. In addition it has a 20/40 second looper, depending on how you have it set. It is super easy to use and has been really good to me. I've used it on over 200 gigs over the last few years. I have different patches set for acoustic and electric. Hope this helps and good luck.

The Line 6 modeling stuff (M5, M9) is very versatile and seems very well made. I was surprised at the quality of the effects.

I have a Boss ME-25. It's a few years old and I've never had a problem with it.

This one's got several amp models built in, an expression pedal, and a large assortment of effects built-in. Sounds great through your favorite amp, or headphones. Also has usb out to a pc for recording.

This looks interesting. I think it's being released on June 24th in the USA. The sound samples that feature their "body rez" sound compelling.

LOTS of other threads on this same topic if you want to do a quick search. I'm a big fan of the Zoom G3 myself...
