Default Strange dreams about guitars

Strange dreams about MY guitar to be exact..
I had a dream the other night that my guitar was melting in my hands. And before that I had a dream that I was playing a show and my strings where on the back of the neck. And just last night, I had a dream that I woke up (in my dream) and found the whole top of the guitar lifting. Just like when a bridge lifts. Except it was the whole top. So I took it to some shop and it changed to just the bridge lifting. And he charged me $800 to fix it.

Anyone else have similar dreams?

No, but I understand that Carlos Santana had a similar dream onstage at Woodstock. His was fueled by peyote.

I have weird guitar dreams from time to time. Usually it's either that I can't find my guitars, and if I do they've been damaged somehow, or I'm trying to play a show either with friends or someone famous and the strings just won't stay tight...they get really, really loose.

Frustrating dreams and all to often very realistic.

So last night I deampt that my guitar was missing, I found another guitar in its case but it had been left under a dripping faucet so the case was also filled with water. And all the while a friend was trying to turn a two chord song ,Jambalaya, into a four chord song. No I don't know what the other two chords were.

I will say that the moment I woke up I checked to see that my guitar was sitting in its stand when I woke up this morning,

I have no idea what I ate to cause the bizzare dream.

If you are dreaming crazy dreams about guitars, or anything related to reality , it probably means that you have some sort of unresolved issues with it/them etc.

I don't dream about guitars.

I do sometimes get myself to sleep by dreaming up my ultimate custom guitar.
I've never finished it.

Sounds like a variation on the "showing up for school (work, church, etc.) naked" dream.

I had a dream few months ago that my wife and I decided to by a new house and when we were settling in I found a room that we didn't see while looking at the house that was very dark and big. I had to use my phone for light. I found hundreds of antique engines and in the center was a complete steam locomotive. Then I saw that the walls were covered with thousands of guitars. She would have wanted to call the people we bought it from so I decided to never tell her about it.

Lot of weird dreams in the replies. I guess I'm not the only one.
Last night I had a dream that I lost my case.. I looked everywhere for it and ended up finding it in Walmart. Not for sale. Just like I forgot it there for whatever reason.

I remember a young man here on the forum several years ago, who dreamed of having a red guitar. So several forum members donated, (no way he could ever afford it), and got him his dream guitar. I don't know if he is still a member here or not, but I can't get over the generosity and goodwill of the members here. I love to see someone's dreams come true. Not sayin' it would happen again, juust that I'm really proud to be associated with AGF, blue chip folks around here.

I remember that too.

Seems to me he wanted a Red Taylor 600 series guitar.

Was his name Albert or Alberto

I think he was in Columbia

Help somebody fill in the blanks.

His name is Alberto and he was from South America...don't remember where. It wasn't that he couldn't afford the guitar...he could...but he wanted it by Christmas and due to customs regulations, etc, couldn't get it by then. He said if he couldn't get it by Christmas he'd hate it (English was not his first language) so people jumped in to have it shipped and to bypass some of the regulations that would have slowed it down.

At least I think that's how it happened.

I saw something about him recently and apparently he's now a male model in whatever country he lives in.

As far as dreams about guitars goes, I suspect that at least some here have w#t dreams about certain guitars, judging from some of the posts in the general guitar forum within these forums. That is a normal, healthy aspect of playing guitar. Ask any high school counselor.
