Ha, a broiling poolside gig in the heat then off with the family for BBQ and fireworks.

We had hoped to go on a river rafting trip today. But questionable weather/river conditions and the fact that we would be taking our 3 yr old grandson compelled us to reconsider. Just going to stay home. Maybe attend some firework displays and shoot some here for the grandson. Got a couple racks of baby back ribs ready to BBQ. Not sure if today or tomorrow.

All depends on if it stops raining.

Thank you, Dru!

We are having beautiful weather in western Washington combined with a drought. For July 4th, every year the weather is always "iffy" about whether we will have rain or sunshine, but it will be sunshine for sure this year.

I'm going to help my 12-year-old grand daughter change strings on her new guitar for the first time this morning, then my wife and I will have a cookout with my son's family this afternoon. We might go see the fireworks in town.

Once this holiday weekend is over with, though, I wish it would rain. The forests are so incredibly dry that the danger of forest fires is very real and worrisome.

Thanks, Dru.

Here, in the North Carolina foothills, our drought has been broken by thunderstorms. A lot of kids are going to be unhappy if the current weather pattern holds: the local fireworks display draws families from all throughout this tiny county.

I'm celebrating with my fellow acoustic players by gathering for a public jam at the old train depot, which happens also to be a great place to watch the fireworks.

Took a bike ride early this morning (beat the crowds and the heat). Yard work for the day, then tube steaks burnt on the grill w/roasted corn on the cob, chips and cold beer for dinner. Mmmmm.

With all the kids out of the house, we don't do the fireworks anymore.

Yup....the wife and girlfriends are going shopping! That means I get to be with all the acoustics for a few hours with NO interruptions

Anyone going to try and eat 62 hotdogs today? Just like the big Coney Island event today?

Just bought over $100. in fireworks. And that doesn't buy much. 1st time I've bought any in years. But now I have kids (grandson) again. Got 24 big artillery shells and a bunch of little kid stuff. Snappers, tanks etc.
