Default Simple 000

Number 134 out the door.
Back and sides are Honduras rosewood.
Top is euro spruce.
Binding and other appointments Koa.
Peghead overlay and bridge Braz RW.

Very pleased with the sound.

Indian Ebony fingerboard

Koa and paua rosette

I found the HRW in Texas while wood shopping with my brother. The grain is straight and perfectly quartered. Someone had cut some 3/8 inch planks which I was able to resaw but barely and the price was right. That was at least 10 years ago and I think the planks were old then. Two more sets to go.

Ditto what Nemoman said. This is a very pretty guitar, great woods, just enough bling, well done!

Very, very nice, John! You've created a guitar that is the epitome of elegance. Extra kudos for your bridge design.

I certainly do appreciate your comments

Thanks jmat. I have been avoiding that wood because it didnt have a lot of flash but now I think that perhaps straight grained well quartered wood has its own visual appeal missing in more flamboyant grain. To quote my son, its all good.

In what world is that simple? Way past style 18, for sure. Looks great to me.

Simple? - that must mean something different in the US.

Perhaps 'Wonderful', 'Elegant', 'Sophisticated'...........

At least there is no segmented rosette, no arm bevel, leg bevel, rib bevel, cutaway, shellfish anywhere other than the top and rosette, which is not really much trouble, no fancy inlay on the peghead, just diamonds on the fretboard. Its amazing how much time those kind of things add to construction time. All that stuff comes with the next build.

Except for the cutaway, I don't do much if any of the things you mention. Mostly I consider them a distraction from the goal of "great guitar" creation, though of course they don't damage the play-ability/musicality much if at all, but they do cut into production numbers and for me, personal satisfaction. This guitar is pretty close to the high edge of my "fancy"! You're welcome.

I don't remember ever seeing wood that nice on our wood shopping treks.
Must have been when you ducked behind that rack and made a bee line to the truck. Smart move. Beautiful material, fine looking "simple" guitar.
You said that because it only has one neck, right?

Smile Simple is relative...

My new one is coming soon, and has double big bevels, port, elevated FB extension and CF tube bracing for the neck...

No wonder this beauty seems simple to overworked and underpaid John! Haha

This 000 Looks absolutely beautiful and it is a Kinnaird 12 fret in HRW! Look out

And stand back!

Mighty fine, as always....

Cheers

Paul
