I swear I was there, but have not made it into any of the crowd shots...my new guitar made it, but alas I did not.

I did stop by the wood tent to try and introduce myself to Uncle Bob, but he was not there, he was probably out taking pictures of the crowd which would mean I was in the wrong place at the wrong time yet again.

Weeeeelllll, in this set of pictures, there is a Crazy cocobolo with some sapwood at the bottom that Bob pictured....John Osthoff, it is sitting next to me right now haha! You'll have to check out the who is going to Woodstock thread if interested in seeing what complete lack of will power I truly have....envision my head hanging low....hands in my pockets, my head moving slowly from side to side as I mumble "what did I just do?"

Sorry I missed you. John told me later that the guitar was sold. When I cut that piece of cocobolo I knew it would make a beautiful guitar. John turned it into an awesome instrument. Congrats on your purchase. Enjoy

Oh that makes it even more special now that I know he scored that wood from you. As I mentioned above, I stopped at your booth to say hello, but you were out and about, sorry I missed you as well.

That wood DID turn into an awesome instrument. It is so beautiful. Hopefully there are not too many sets out there as this baby is certainly unique. Thank you for finding it!!!

Tom

Wow, Tom--saw the pics in another thread. She looks to be a total beauty and no doubt a tonal masterpiece--congrats!

Yes, I don't think the hay and tarp helped much!

Yes, that descibes it perfectly. To be honest I picked it up to look at it because of how pretty it was and to be nice. Next thing I know I am playing it outside the men's room (which is mesmerizing btw), and all of a sudden I am shaking hands and handing over a card hahaha. It is truly a tonal masterpiece as you say. I was blown away at the show and now more so at home....John has impressed me to no end with this build. If I had not said yes, it would have always bothered me I think.

I'm glad you didn't let that get away, Tom. The ones left behind can sometimes haunt you for a lifetime. And it takes a certain amount of guts to pull the trigger. So, congrats. Life just got better with that guitar next to you.

Thanks for that, it is good to be validated by others who understand the obsession....
