Very cool, Kevin! Are you going to incorporate some touch of blue in or around the leopard? Either way, this is really a stunning instrument--kudos!

Getting these two ready for finish. I got grain filler on them today.

And this Engelmann top is white, but this pic doesn't show that well. The tap on this body is amazing. Lively...I can't wait to get strings on this. Its going to be really sweet, I believe.

The little dark spot on this pic, is an ebony dust "fingerprint" from rotating the body for the pic...the top is great!

Here is the back highlighted with the grain filler this morning.

Fairly nice piece of macassar.

Got the headstock binding on and it looks really nice. This matches the body and this is also on the fingerboard.

Got the fingerboard bound too. This is just sitting on there in this picture. I will probably put the Leopard in the headstock next. Then the fingerboard.

Since I use the taper jig for both the neck shaft and the fingerboard, I'm getting stuff to line up very consistently. I can rout off what I need for bindings, and just put that binding thickness back on the fingerboard, and have less messing around..

I kinda skipped over this, but wanted to share how I put these last couple headstock overlays on. I've been messing around with ways to do this best in my system. And this last time I tried this method.

I have a template of my headstock and I have these 5/64 holes indexed in that. I use that template to drill the ebony plate. Then I put the indexing pins in there when I glue the headstock overlay on.

Then I was always slopping around when the glue got added in there. I think I wanted to get the overlay sized up more - then added on. Anyway, I made this little caul to go on the back side.

For the top side caul I just used a headstock template with the holes drilled out more so it would never conflict with the indexing pins.

I get less slippage when gluing the headstock overlay on, and better clamp coverage.

Nothing new here, I'm sure. Just sharing.

This one is getting closer to my spray room. Tons of work to do.

Here is the headstock Leopard! I will have this one at the Arlington Guitar Show in Oct to present to its owner! Its finishing out very nice.

Its looking really sharp. This top and backs tap tone is fantastic. I will be working with this Englemann again. Its said to be in between Sitka and cedar...I guess I'll find out on this one. Again, I've kept track of everything there is, so I can repeat results rather than shooting in the dark. Still a fair amount of that, but...just trying to zero in on more repeatable results.

as I said before, I now have this little set up stick to more quickly and accurately set my bridge location.

Here are some pics outside in natural light.

The complimentary Leopard, which people are enjoying, is available until 4/4/16. Hope you enjoy!

Last coat of clear went on these today. It flowed out really nice too.

Still waiting to carve this neck. Waiting on customer dimensions. Should have them tomorrow and moving it forward.

Have a great evening.
