2011 Collings OM2H - $2600 +sh/pp
UPDATE: I'd consider a trade +/- cash for a solid, vintage-voiced (or vintage) slope shoulder dread. I'm specifically interested in J-50s, J-45s, Kopps, and Walkers. Thanks!
I've had my dalliance with an OM- and it couldn't have happened with a better guitar- but it's time for me to return to a dreadnaught. This one is particularly great for the singer/songwriter who is being supported by a band, and for the fingerstylist who does a little bit of a lot. Very responsive guitar with a surprisingly deep, balanced voice. Purchased used from Matt Umanov Guitars in NYC, I'm the second owner. Sitka/rosewood, 1 3/4 nut width, 2 3/16 string spacing, and a faaaaaancy Brazillian headstock overlay. My luthier installed a strap pin in the heel (former Collings guy- he knows how to do it), and gave it a recent setup as of a month ago- she's ready to go for many years to come. Frets are great, with lots of life. That said, it is a player's guitar and has two areas of notes: 1. The headstock has a few light nicks in it (shown in pictures) 2. There are two impressions in the elbow side lower bout. They are only visible in particular light, relatively small (no larger than a Fender-style pick), and are only impressions in the nitrocellulose. No wood damage. These have been going on Reverb for $2800-3000 and I'm taking the playwear into account in the pricing.
