How would you compare the House and your R80 MJ? I have an R75MJ so I am fairly familiar with the tonal profile.

The MJ as you know is pretty bassy and you can really drive it. The combination of mahogany and cedar on the House is a brighter, woody kind of tone with more clarity. A great wood combo for fingerpicking. Not to say it can't be a strummer. Just can't drive it like the MJ. Keep in mind the House is also a short scale so the string tension is less. So if you're looking for something tonally different than the MJ, the House would qualify.

And my Northwood MJ is never leaving me.

Do you happen to know the scale lengths on either the House or Morgan as compared to the Northwood by any chance?

The Northwood MJ scale length spec is 25.5"
The Morgan DM spec is 25.5"
The House OM is a short scale model at 24.9"

If you're looking for a HOG dread strummer, the Morgan is the best I've had.

Default Buy it

I am unaffiliated with the seller. But I have played this model many times and you could hardly ask for a better built, better sounding, better playing mahogany dread. To my ear, the voicing is modern/Taylorish, but with a little more midrange. And 1050 is a darn good price
