Embryonic Journey. Listen to alot of Hot Tuna for some ideas. Jorma plays some of the best acoustic blues.

Seriously take a look at this one. You can even listen to snippets of the tunes on this site.
Aside from having a lot of fun, you're bound to become an even better player by having some of these under your fingers. http://www.acoustictruth.com/ragtime.html

Have a look at Jody Fisher. I think this is the place you might want to explore next.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=476vNb6thyM This is a trio of guitarists with a mix of sounds..jazz again..but what is jazz? Its just incredible melodic control and line independence that I am focussing on; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WF3tDW0e6-0 Last edited by Davis Webb; 02-10-2013 at 06:29 AM. |

If you can play classical gas, you're about where I was when I started playing again 2 yrs ago. I played a little when I was a kid, switched to bass, grew up and got back into it. I have what I'd call really small hands. You'll be surprised how much they'll stretch. Youtube and tabs can really be your friend.....and patience. It might take me literally weeks to get thru a song, one phrase at a time reeeealy slow, but it will come. Find a song you really like and it will be worth spending the time on. Sometimes you can work around the impossible to make chords like Tommy Emmanuel (who has huge hands) uses. Some examples I've learned are my favorite pickers "easier" ones. There are several people that post tutorials on youtube that can help a lot.
Tommy Emmanuel - Angelina, Somewhere over the Rainbow(without the chimes) Those who wait Jerry Reed - Jiffy Jam Antoine Dufour - heart of the matter, drac and friends Adam Rafferty - Superstition, Mas que nada Hope this helps |

Suggest "Your Song"
If you're looking for fingerstyle songs in the Begining-to-intermediate category, you might try Your Song, the old Elton John tune.
Although it is a piano song, I worked out a guitar version which you can find here: http://m.youtube.com/user/gacochrane...?v=oEyXhHEtPI4 It is not really a solo piece, but is easily recognizable even without a vocalist. Good luck in your quest, I hope this helps! Gary |

White Lion's "When the Children Cry". It came out back in '87 or so and like Dust in the Wind, no drums. According to Wiki, it reached #3 on the Billboard 100 chart. I still love playing/singing that tune. Here's a youtube clip that looks like it is the video:
