Default Funny testimony to durability of Carbon Guitars

When Rainsong was asked about adding an endplug to their guitars this was their reply.

1) The existing strap button hole is too small for the jack and would need to be drilled larger. Graphite is very strong so a fresh bit is needed. We use diamond coated bits here at the factory.

When's that last time you had to use a diamond coated bit to drill you endpin, that says something about durability.

Probably would be smart if your drilling many holes a day or a week, but a good high carbon bit I am sure would make graphite relent once.....

It's the abrasive nature of the epoxy and fibers that gets you. Dulls bits like nobody's business. Paint does the same thing. Just a thin layer but it can dull bits faster than steel.
